Jubilate means “great happiness” – and that’s exactly what we’re about! Led by local music teacher Lucy Gove, our two community choirs welcome everyone who loves to sing, whether you can read music fluently or have never sung in a group before. With scores and rehearsal tracks provided, you’ll feel fully supported as we learn timeless favourites, nostalgic classics, and just enough fresh music to keep things exciting!
Bekesbourne Jubilate meets on Tuesday mornings at Bekesbourne Village Hall, born out of Lucy’s popular Learn to Sing course. It’s a friendly, family-feel group where friendships flourish over tea, biscuits and a good old natter! We sing exactly the same music as our Barham friends so if you can't make it to one session, just come along and sing with the other choir instead.
There’s free parking on-site, plus extra at Bekesbourne Station.
Barham Jubilate meets on Tuesday evenings in the stunning St John the Baptist’s Church, Barham, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The atmosphere is uplifting and relaxed, the perfect way to end your day. The choir is becoming so popular, we have members who travel from all across East Kent to sing with us. Arrive early for a cuppa, especially if you lift-share or use public transport – your refreshments are on us!
Come along and try your first session for FREE with no obligation to sign up. Once you've experienced the 'Jubilate' method of singing together (which basically means 'great happiness!') then I hope you'll decide to join us permanently.
The 2025 Autumn / Winter Season consists of two terms, starting on Tuesday 9th September and ending on Tuesday 2nd December.
Each term will consist of six weeks and cost £51. An additional one-off charge for the Autumn / Winter season of £20 will cover music and rehearsal tracks.
We are working towards a magical Christmas concert on Saturday 13th December, 4pm at St Mary's Church, Wingham.
